Recently Acquired Small but Good Welsh Collection

Date posted: 28th February 2008

Have just purchased a small collection of great titles with a Welsh interest.

Amongst which are:

A copy of the very rare Welsh Legends, a collection of popular oral tales. In contemporary leather covers, 1802, sometimes attributed to William Earle. Only 5 copies held in the UK, no copy at auction for over 20 years!

A fair copy of Morus Kyffin's Deffynniad Ffydd Eglwys Loegr, 1594, missing title page and anything beyond page 238. Very rare item and the first title published in Welsh after Bishop Morgan's Bible?

Other than that there is a superb run of The Cambrian Quarterly Magazine (5 Vols), Old Wales Volume 1, 2 & 3.

A rather nice contemporary copy of Bingley's North Wales, 2 volumes, 1804, in half leather with marbled boards.

Also a copy of Mynydd Parys (Parys Mountain) by Owen Griffith of Pensarn, Amlwch, not dated but c1897. No spine but beyond that in fairly good shape. First time we have had a copy of this very desirable but rare item on the Copper mines of Anglesey.

And much more.

Keep searching Madoc Books for these and other rare titles!!!!
