In contemporary half calf over red cloth, some blind tooling, corners & edges rubbed. Spine, gilt tooling & titles, edges worn. Internally, [3], 4-60 pp, errata tipped in, yellow soiled endpapers, board have a "bow" to them, small binders label to fpd (RE Jones), occasional spotting, text block edges reddened, authors presentation note to the Conway mayor on 1897 to ffep, additional loose leaf with another of the authors dedication notes, dated 1896. A 2nd edition was published in 1899. Uncommon, COPAC shows 5 copies only. (Folio, 12*18 cms). JR Furness, did the conservation work at Plas Mawr, Conwy, for the Royal Cambrian Society.
