Rare! In VG, c1835, attractive gilt printed, bevelled, red cloth, corners rubbed, no titles to spine, edges bumped, almost invisible repair at head & tail. Internally, not paginated, 45 brightly coloured plates (including 2 large folding), each with a leaf of descriptive text, each plate numbered 149-192 with the tissue guarded plate being No 1, the text leaves have corresponding numbers, a.e.g., yellow endpapers, hinges strengthened. (243*148 mm). Rare, COPAC, OCLC etc list 1 institutional copy at Wisconsin Uni., and the last example to appear at auction was in 1946! Most of the plates are of flowers introduced from Australia, Brazil, California, India, etc., and include the Rhododendron, Capt.
