In half brown morocco over purple cloth by Zaehnsdorf, gilt tooling, corners rubbed. Spines, raised bands, decorative gilt tooling & titles. Internally, red marbled endpapers, binders stamp to verso fep, each Vol with its half title, woodcut tp & engraved dedication leaf, a.e.g.
Vol 1, , (ii-iv), , 4-231 pp, 32 hand coloured aquatints. V2, , (iv-vi), , , 2-239 pp, 32 coloured pls. V3, , (iv) only, , , 2-280 pp,  index & errata, 40 coloured pls. Plates dated 1808/1809 & 1 1810, some watermarked J Whatman 1808 or W Balston 1809. Text leaves watermarked L&D 1807/1808 or Whatman 1806/07. Engraved dedication trimmed at foot shaving imprint, occasional offsetting. Printed by T. Bensley, Bolt Court, Fleet Street, London. A lovely copy, clean, wide margins, London as it was. Originally issued in 26 monthly parts, each with 4 plates. 1000 sets are said to have been issued (parts), but probably increased when the bound later impressions are included to near 5,000.
