Spine is worn with raised bands and gilt tooling. Title in gilt to red leather labels. All 3 text block edges marbled. With a book label of Charles Stewart Hardy (CS Hardy 1842-1867 of Chilham Castle in Kent) to fep. A little foxing and browning to the first and last few pages and then clean & tight throughout. With some lovely B&W plates [6], 959 pp, 34 pl. (Libri Walliae 1957. COPAC. WorldCat) EVANS, topographical writer. Little is known about him beyond his writings - four works descriptive of and based on tours in Wales . They were A Tour through part of North Wales in . 1798 and at other times: principally undertaken with a view to Botanical researches in that alpine country; interspersed with observations on its Scenery, Agriculture, Manufactures (London , 1800 , with other editions in 1802 and 1804). Letters written during a Tour through South Wales in . 1803 and at other times, 1804. Monmouthshire in vol. xi of The Beauties of England and Wales, 1810.
