c1850, 6 B&W illustrations, VG. British Antiquities Revived or a A fine series of early lithographed illustrations of the picturesque ruins of this famous castle. Very rare item in contemporary cream printed paper wraps, lightly soiled, cotton tied, corners a little dog earred. Internally, 6 B&W plates, not dated but circa 1850, some foxing. Illustrations are:- Ragland Castle; The Interior; The Keep; Castle from SW Tower; The Fountain Court; The Banqueting Hall. Each with the imprint of G. Rowe, St. George's Place, Cheltenham. Very Rare. Appears to be completely unrecorded. No copies at BL, or elsewhere, not listed at COPAC or WorldCat, there are 3 single plates only at the NLW. Rowe, artist, lithographer and teacher of drawing of Cheltenham.
