In contemporary half calf over worn marbled boards, some gilt tooling, corners and edges lightly bumped and worn. Spines, carefully relaid retaining the old, decorative gilt tooling and titles. Internally, marbled endpapers, text block edges reddened, hinges strengthened, Western Hindoostan, frontis present, [2], [1], (ii-v), [11], [1], 2-263 pp, [1], [9] index, [1], 1 map (folding), 8 plates, 1 vignette. Eastern Hindoostan, frontis present, [10], [1], 2-374 pp, [13] index, 13 plates, 1 vignette. Occasional light foxing and offsetting, map lightly spotted, small repaired margin tear.
