Jones, a county historian, also wrote some essays, reviews, and published letters on Welsh history, tours, and antiquities in the Cambrian Register (1795, 1796) and in Archaeologia (1814), but a projected history of Radnorshire was not written and a translation of Ellis Wynne's Gweledigaetheu y bardd cwsc (1703) which Jones is said to have attempted and left unfinished was never published.
