Internally, frontis, [3], (iv-vi), [1] notice to subscribers (which states it will be completed in 5 parts), [1], [1], 2-316 pp, 4 illustrations (3 full page 1 within text), lacks all beyond page 316 (contents lists to p164), green marbled endpapers, bookplate to fpd (Robert William Llewellyn 1898), modern bookplate to fep, binders stamp to verso fep (A&J Bolt, Bristol), some light spotting to blanks, t.e.g., remainder uncut. Uncommon. (Folio, 142*221 mm). THOMAS, cleric and historian, was a hard-working parish priest, a conscientious archdeacon, a zealous defender of his Church, and the author of four religious books. S. Asaph is the only one of the Welsh dioceses which has had its history investigated in such detail; and the debt which later research workers owe to the archdeacon for this splendid work is incalculable.
