In brown embossed cloth, gilt title & surround, corners rubbed. Spine, no title, edges bumped. Internally, frontis, illustrated title page, [2] pl list, 34 plates depicting 43 images eng tp (some pls with 4 images), new endpapers, evidence of bookplate removal. (Oblong 213*137), some light foxing to blanks only, not dated but circa 1850?, per Anderson 340. Humphreys, printer and publisher and amongst the most important books that he issued were the edition (1883) of Pennant 's Tours in Wales, which John Rhys, afterwards principal of Jesus College, Oxford, edited for him; a new edition (1864), edited by Cynddelw, of Gorchestion Beirdd Cymru; a translation by Eben Fardd, of Chambers's Information for the People (1856), a translation of Josephus (1882), and editions of the poetical works of Dewi Wyn, Cawrdaf, Ieuan Brydydd Hir, and Cynddelw (qq.v.).
