Probably a small printing, 6 copies in institutions (1 US, 1 Wales, 4 England). The poem belongs to the Romantic and early Victorian tradition of narrative verse. As its title suggests, it uses the setting of a winter night to create an atmosphere of reflection, mystery, melancholy, and storytelling. Works of this period often combined dramatic natural scenery with emotional and moral themes, and Evans's poem appears to follow that literary pattern.
