Better known than these are his books, published at his own expense, and especially The Heart of Northern Wales, which originally (1911) was intended to be mainly a revised edition of the History of Aberconwy by Robert Williams, but was expanded into a two-volume book (1912 and 1927) of much wider compass. Besides this work, Lowe published a reprint of John Wynn of Gwydir 's Survey of Penmaenmawr; Abbeys and Convents of the Vale of Conway; Llansannan; and several guidebooks and maps. See NLW WBO.
