LOWE, antiquary, contributed articles, e.g. 'The Price Families of Plas Iolyn and Gilar' to Arch. Camb. Better known than these are his books, published at his own expense, and especially The Heart of Northern Wales, which originally (1911) was intended to be mainly a revised edition of the History of Aberconwy by Robert Williams, but was expanded into a two-volume book (1912 and 1927) of much wider compass. Besides this work, Lowe published a reprint of John Wynn of Gwydir 's Survey of Penmaenmawr; Abbeys and Convents of the Vale of Conway; Llansannan; and several guidebooks and maps. See NLW WBO. Full title is: The Heart of Northern Wales as it was and as it is, being an account of the Pre-historical and Historical remains of Aberconway and the Neighbourhood.
