Extra tall, 1820, 2nd & enlarged edition, complete with all 39 superbly coloured atmospheric images. Probably the best coloured aquatints of Wales. In contemporary half calf over green marbled boards, some gilt tooling, edges rubbed, corners repaired. Spine, gilt tooling, raised bands, gilt title to black calf label, rubbed along joints. Internally, not paginated, frontis, [2] ff, B-L2, 39 pls (coloured & numbered), with 40 leaves of descriptive text, text leaves watermarked J Whatman 1820. Plates dated 1818 & 20, watermarked 1820 except for the frontis which is dated 1820 but watermarked 1823, armorial bookplate to fpd (Frances M Myers). (415*267 mm or 16 5/16*10 1/2 inches). (Abbey 523. Tooley 157). Originally issued in part in 1817, then in book form in the same year with just 30 plates.
