Spines, gilt tooling, titles in gilt to red calf labels, edges worn some loss. Not dated but 1775? Vol 1, frontis, [3], (iv) only, [1], 6-400, 10 pls (incl frontis). Vol 2, [3], 4-399, 7 pls. Vol 3, [3], 4-391, 14 pls. Vol 4, [3], 4-392, 12 pls. Vol 5, [3], 4-430, 9 pls. Vol 6, [3], 4-282 pp, 5 pls, spine number worn. A.e.g. but faded, Vol 4 page 109 miss-numbered 209, (208*120). (ESTC T34503). Published between 1774 and 1776 on the evidence of Snagg's addresses - per ESTC. A single copy of the original prospectus dated January 1775 in the Bodleian announces the work was to be issued in weekly parts printed in demy octavo, on fine paper.... making six handsome volumes. The engraver is identified as Taylor, and the travels are arranged in a series of circuit journeys. Title continues: the Principal Seats of the Nobility and Gentry, Public Buildings, Places of Resort and Entertainment, &c. Carefully and faithfully Displayed.
