Spine, gilt tooling & titles, top edge worn. Internally, 106 pls (all hand coloured, 53 oblong, 53 oval, 1 dated 1797, remainder undated but 1794/5?), 3 loose coloured oblong plates. VG, occasional spot & light edge browning, bookplate top fpd (Tom Lloyd-Robrts). (236*182 mm). A contemporary scrap book, containing plates only. Baker's guide appeared during the rise of British domestic tourism, when improved roads and growing interest in landscape aesthetics encouraged travel outside London. And is still valued as an important record of Welsh landscapes and monuments before major 19th-century changes.
