Spine, raised bands, gilt tooling, gilt titles to black calf label, joints cracked. Internally, [2] ms notes, [6], [4] subscribers list, (xxviii), [4], [3], 4-586 pp, [20] index, numerous decorative initial letters & some large headers, title page in red and black, dedication signed: Gulielmus Clarke (the editor). Pp. [551]-586: 'Glossarium vocum forensium quae in legibus Hoelianis occurunt' compiled by William Wotton. Parallel Welsh and Latin texts, bookplate to fpd (Ricardi Bagot, Bath & Wellen Episcopi). Of an edition of 564 copies, four were printed on super, 160 on royal and 400 on derry paper. The deputy editor, through whom the book may well have come into the library, was Moses Williams. Wotton, a linguist and theologian was supposedly able to read Latin, Greek and Hebrew verses when aged 5, and later on in life to avoid his creditors he lived under an assumed name. See ODNB.
