The first set of aquatint views produced in England, & particularly scarce with contemporary hand colouring, (Abbey in fact doubted that any early impressions were issued coloured). The additional plate in this copy is L[l]andaff (numbered XI in ink), whilst Denefawr Castle (listed in its place by Abbey & more commonly found) is loosely inserted from another copy. Both bear the date 1777. 1 letter tipped on to fep from book dealer Stephenson of James Rimell & Son to Sir Mayson Beeton ref selling him this copy for £42 (1933!) plus another leaf explaining Aquatints & mentioning that this was gifted by Beeton to Dorothy Grenside.
