(267*363 mm) The album was produced as a wedding present 1846-71 by John Rimer for his wife. There are additionally several decorated biographical calligraphic leaves listing major events of their married life, with vignette illustrations. The illustrations are of places significant in their life together. All the plates are topographical, starting in Hornsea Church (North London) and covering named locations in Cambridge, London, UK, Pyrenees, Italy, Switzerland, and 5 Welsh (Caernarvon Castle, Beddgellet, Pont Aberglaslin, Llanberis, Pont Gwryd - Snowdon in the distance. All the scenes are signed John Rimer and have delightful highly decorative borders of twining flowers, appropriate rustic themes, sometimes with vignettes etc. The style is delicate and professionally executed.
