Have always been an admirer of William Stukeleys craftsmanship in "Itinerarium Curiosum", "Stonehenge a Temple Restor'd to the British Druids", and "Abury, a Temple of the British Druids".
And over the years have been luck enough to have had some lovely copies. We have now purchased a superb copy of- "The Spleen", 1723, first and only edition, with 16 wonderful plates, which other than the 8 of the spleen contain 8 on the dissection of an elephant!
Accompanied, of course, by Anne Finch's classic "Pindaris Ode on the Spleen"....
